This is from the Avalon School Hydro Appeal page.
Christmas has come early for us at Avalon School with the news that we have smashed the £1.1m fundraising target and will see the Hydrotherapy Pool they need start to take shape in the New Year. So remarkable has been the pupils’ fundraising that news reached Hong Kong, where a charity was so impressed it pledged a large donation. Together with a generous grant from St James’s Place Foundation in Cirencester, this has placed the much-needed pool in sight…
“Thank you so much!” is the message from Avalon’s pupils and teachers, who are grateful for the unstinting support shown by the local community over the past few years. Headteacher Alison Murkin, said:
“This has been a real labour of love and our pupils have been incredible. They have each used their abilities and ideas to raise money for the pool, and have inspired so many others to help us. I would like to say a huge thank you to them and also to all the local groups and those wider afield, who have contributed to making this pool a reality.”
With the Hydrotherapy Pool build fundraising complete and the pool in sight, pupils are now setting their minds to funding the £115, 000 equipment needed to fit it out.
To support the appeal you can simply come along to the next HUB Cafe where all profits will go to the equipment fund. If you want to go further then you can contribute through
