Water Fountain and Peace Garden update

Village Hall Club

As you may know last year we received a £500.00 grant from Wessex Watermark towards the water fountain and Peace’s garden project. This was added to by a £100.00 grant from the Polden Post and also a £100.00 private donation. I am very pleased to announce that following a rather substantial donation from Bill & Christina Togni over the weekend the VHC has now been able to order the said fountain.

Following a site visit from a Wessex water inspector last week the original fountain was found not to be WRAS approved so another was sourced and fortunately found to be cheaper as well. The kind water inspector then decided to give the VH a full free inspection on ALL water related matters inside the VH! ( how nice I thought?) which has resulted in semi minor repairs to be made but the hall can still be used pending his return and subsequent inspection again in the very near future.

It is anticipated that following the laying of a small patio area to site the fountain on at the front of the VH and with only minor plumbing the fountain with the integrated bottle filler will be up and flowing within the next few weeks. Benches and fences re the garden area still temporarily pending.
Many thanks to all for supporting the project and to Bill & Christina for putting the ‘icing on the cake’
Simon.
