Coming Soon

Dates for March. The Parish Council meet on 4 March at 7.00pm in the Village Hall.  the agenda is available under the “organisations” menu at the top of this page.

Sadly there will be no HUB Cafe in March.

The third outing of the musicians from COSMiC to Stawell Village Hall takes place on the evening of 16 March.  This COSMiC and Curry event always sells out so get your tickets in advance. Tickets are available from Margaret on 722995 and are £12 per adult and £8 per child (8 or under). The curries will be freshly prepared in the hall kitchen by Bocabar chef, Matt Brookes. As well as the curries and side dishes there will be ice creams and after eight mints for pud! Get your tickets soon.

On 21 March we have another chance to have lunch with the Lunch Bunch who will be opening their Avalon Cafe for the serving of wonderful home made soup and ploughman’s lunches, both with home made bread too. Service runs from 12:30pm to 2:00pm.

On 23 March the Stawell Village Cinema will be showing the excellent, Oscar winning, Bohemian Rhapsody. Rami Malek won the 2019 best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury with the film also picking up Oscars for Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing and Best Editing.  The doors open at 7:00pm for a 7:30pm start. The bar will be open and hotdogs, crisps and snacks will be available.  This is a Cert 12 film.

If you are a regular hall user you may have noticed work going on in the bar area recently.  The Spitfire Bar is being refurbished and fitted out to improve its usability, appearance and standard of service.  The new bar will be reopened on 30 March with a special Pizza Pub Night where our local Pizza guy, Iain, will be serving Pizzas from the Glastonbury Wood Fired Pizza van – should be a great night.

The March Coffee Morning takes place on the 30th from 10:00am to midday. The hosts this month are Rod and Louise Conaway of The Rosery on Wood Lane.

Yoga dates are published on the Events Calendar.

Advanced notice of an early April event.  Check out the details of the Sedge Moors Twinning Association Tea Dance on  the afternoon of Sunday 7 April. I’ve heard a number of folk talking about this so I’m sure it will prove to be a very popular event.
