I’m pretty sure this is a first for the village and sounds really exciting. I’ve never been to one of these evenings before but I know that those who have say they are fantastic fun. Tickets will be just £13 each to include a fish/chicken supper plus dessert. Put Saturday May 4 in your diary folks.
April and May Yoga dates are in the calendar.
Social events for April kick off with a Sedge Moors Twinning Association Tea Dance on the afternoon of 7 April. I know there is a lot of interest in this event so go along to what promises to be a real fun event. The dance runs from 3pm-5pm and tickets are just £5 each. Call Phil (723432) or Roger (723307) to reserve your tickets.
The Church Easter Bingo is always popular. This year it is marketed as a “Prize Easter Bingo and Lamb Bonanza” so the ante is being raised! Eyes down is on Saturday 13 April at 7:30pm in the Village Hall. Refreshments will be available.
The HUB Cafe is on 20 April and the doors are open from 10:30am to 1:00pm. All the usual goodies will be on sale so you can spend time over brunch or lunch with friends and neighbours. This month, the cafe is supporting Avalon School who bring us the Lunch Bunch Cafe. They have just raised the necessary funds for a new hydrotherapy pool and are now trying to raise a further £115,000 for all the interior equipment needed. Find out more about the pool and the new appeal by clicking here. All the proceeds from this month’s cafe will be donated to support this appeal. You can donate directly to their appeal at https://www.givey.com/friendsofavalonpta
Also on 20 April we have a return performance by the fabulous Arthur’s Point, an alt folk band from Wookey. Arthur’s Point have performed to a packed hall here in the village before and I’m sure they will attract a big crowd again. Arthur’s Point are rooted in folk music but draw influences and material from classical, world and rock music. Doors open at 7:30pm. The bar will be open and tickets are just £6 each. Call Carol on 722860 to reserve yours.
